Summertime Vibes

It's not quite summer, but it's getting closer. The weather is warming up and it's time to start playing outside and playing in the water. Not only that, but some things and places that were currently closed are starting to open. We are ready to get out and start playing. We are all sick of being cooped up. It's also nice that we can start having more family and friends over as a lot of the gathering restrictions for COVID have been lifted.

Here are a few of the things we have been up to around here to keep us active and cool.

Fun on the water slide plus visits from Grandma and some cousins.

A Tarp and some Dish Soap

The kids had fun one day with a tarp and some dish soap. It would have been better if the lawn was just a little bit longer, but they still had fun, although they had some rashes afterwards from sliding on the tarp.

House of Jump opened back up and we took the opportunity to go get some jumping in with our cousins one day.

Luckily Tiffanie and Brandon own a boat, so sometimes we get an invite to the lake. We never pass it up if we can. WE had a great day on the water and this time Bryce even tried body surfing and loved it. 

 Anytime we pair the trampoline with a sprinkler it equals a good time.

I guess we are ready for summer. Bring it on!

Doodle Hawk

Mookie was in serious need of a major haircut, luckily the dog groomers were able to get him in. A lot of hair stylist and saloons had to close because of COVID :(. WE decided to do something fun, and had them do a Doodle Hawk (kind of like a mo-hawk but for Doodles). Of course the kids wanted to take it to the next level so we even dyed it blue. We think he looks pretty awesome!

Now I hope he doesn't get the attitude to go with the hairstyle.

Quarantine Quilts

I got a little bit stir crazy when the quarantine was in full swing so I decided to try and do something productive and started using up some of the fabric I had on hand to make some quilts. I got several done. Now I just need to decide what to do with the finished ones. Maybe donate them somewhere?

Sunday Hike-Toquerville Falls

We went to Toquerville Falls for our Sunday Adventure this week, another place we have never visited. It was more of a drive, a super bumpy one, maybe more suited for a side by side or jeep, but we made it okay in the truck. Once we got there we got out and did some exploring and played in the water for a bit, before heading back home. I love that we are finding and exploring places we have never been before right were we live. The kids all look forward to our hikes every Sunday.

Pretty soon the weather is going to get to hot for our Sunday Hikes and we will have to postpone until the Fall, but we will enjoy them while we can.

Getting Organized

If there is one good thing about the quarantine it is that we have been getting organized and also tackling a lot of projects and things that needed to be done around the house. One of them was the shelves in our garage. They really needed to be organized. They were a jumble of mis-matched storage totes and things in random places. I spent days and a little bit of money to get it all pulled together and even was able to find matching totes to make it look even better. We like that they are clear so you can see what's inside without having to guess or write on them. 

I wish I would have gotten a before picture, but here is the finished product.

Face Masks

During the COVID pandemic face masks became a reality for a lot of people. There were mixed reviews and signals as to whether or not they were actually effective. Luckily our state pretty much let people make the ultimate decision on whether or not they wanted to wear one. Some places you weren't given the right to make that choice. Our family opted to not wear them. With one exception-- if you visit the doctors office you were required too. That and Costco-which required everyone who came in their store to wear one. Needless to say, we stayed away from doctors offices and Costco as much as possible. We did have to go to a few therapy appointments for Bryce so I thought I would get a picture to document this crazy time in our lives.
