An Unexpected Trip Home
A few weeks ago we heard the news that one of Landon's best friends growing up had killed himself, so we ended up making a unplanned visit to Flowell to attend the funeral. Landon and Billy had been friends since the time the were in elementary school on up through and beyond high-school. I had become acquainted with Billy as well through Landon when I was in high-school. They hadn't kept in close contact over the past few years, but Landon still considered him one of his good friends. It was one of the saddest funerals I have been to. I think it really go to Landon as well. It made us hug our kids and each other just a little bit harder that day. Hopefully he is in a better place, and away from the pain he was obviously suffering here on Earth.
The kids were of course just happy to have some extra time at Grandpa and Grandmas house and with their cousins. There was just a little bit of snow, just enough to make this cute little snowman.

Note to Teenager
A few weeks ago I let Tanner take my car for the Sadies Dance. It came back without any damage and so I felt pretty good about letting him take it, until I found this receipt. Really?! Tell me son why did you need to buy 2 dozen eggs.
*Note to teenage son-if you borrow your parents vehicle it would be best not to use it to engage in mischievous behavior, however if you do please make sure all evidence is removed including you receipt for eggs. And no it doesn't help your case when you tell me not to worry cause you made sure my license plate was covered up. Teenagers! I hope I survive the next few years! I hope he does as well!
Storytime with Grandma
All of the grandkids look forward to Grandma Tawny coming to town for a visit. When they are all over and she reads one of them a book, then she ends up reading all of them a book or two or five-haha-so they each get a chance to pick one.

Preschool Progress Reports
Bryce has really taken to Montessori. He loves school so much and he loves learning. He amazes us everyday with something he does, or says, or with a new song he sings (he loves music). In Montessori they learn to read using the phonetic method, so they begin with learning the letter sounds. Bryce loves to practice his sounds. He usually asks to almost every night. He has already passed off about 12 of the sounds. (3 more since the progress report was sent home) He also love to write the letter B and has now mastered that and the "r" in writing his name.
These are the cute ribbons they bring home every time they pass off a group of letters. Bryce is always so excited to bring me one. Usually when he brings one home I take him out for a little treat. His current favorite thing to get is dippin dots.
Here is what his teachers had to say about him.

Time Change
I really don't like the time change. My Mom lives in Arizona where they don't participate and I'm starting to like the idea more and more.
This is how I feel every single day since the time change. UGH! It is so frustrating!
I am a morning person, so I like to get up early to try and do some things before my kids get up and going. However every day between 5 and 6 there is Bryce wide awake and needing something.

Family Pictures 2016
Well another successful family photo shoot in the books. I wish the teenager would at least try and smile in a few of these, but you know I guess it is what it is.
I love my family so much. It is very important to me to get family pictures taken each year, to document the changes.
Here are a few of my favorites...
Our kids...
Bryce-
Chloe-
Tanner-
Love this one. It shows how much he loves them!
Bryce wanted a picture with everyone and him. :)
Real Genuine smiles from Tanner.
He also wanted a picture in the sand.
