Honor Roll

Chloe is doing awesome in school so far this year. She is at the top of her class in many subjects and for the most part is easily earning A's in every subject without much effort at all. This is the first year (5th Grade) that she could officially be on the Honor Roll. She got a nice certificate from the principal congratulating her. We hope she continues to keep up the good work.

Yard Sale

As part of Chloe's Christmas we are redoing some stuff in her room-I had cleaned out lots of stuff from there and so I decided why not just do a quick de-clutter of the house and have a yard-sale. We told a few of our neighbors and they got on board. Our little yard-sale ended up being pretty big.

Our neighbors were kind of making fun of us at first (with all of our little items) we had out for sale-but then they started to see the little items add up as we quickly took the lead in profits. We all sold lots of stuff and Landon only had to take 1 small pick up load of stuff to the DI afterwards. Overall I think we brought in about $350 in just 4 hours-the best part is that $200 of it was ours-it sure feels good to make a little extra cash as well as get rid of some clutter.

Fall Fun

I love Fall. I love the cooler weather, The Holiday Season, Making Pies, Black Friday, Fun Family Activities, Fall Leaves, and so much more.

Basketball Tryouts

Last week Tanner had basketball tryouts for the freshmen team. There are a lot of athletic kids his age and a lot of talent so we knew it would be hard going into it. Tanner made the first cut, but didn't make the final cut. He handled it pretty well. He will play city league and church ball this year and he says he wants to try out again next year so we will see if that changes or not between now and then. He really is a good ball player and has come so far in his basketball skills over the last few years he is way more aggressive and confident in his ball handling. Plus he has grown a lot both in height and body mass-his arms and legs are pure muscle. We are glad he still wants to play city league so that he has something to keep him busy until baseball season. We are just proud of him for trying and with how well he handled it when he was cut.

Veterans Day Parade

Last week Chloe's class marched in the Veterans Day Parade, which was held over in Washington. Bryce and I went over to watch. Bryce especially like the horses. Chloe had fun walking in the parade but was even happier that afterwards the fifth graders weren't required to go back to school so she was able to come home with Bryce and I for the rest of the day.

Last Game of the Season=WIN=UNDEFEATED ALL SEASON

Last Saturday was Chloe's last soccer game of the fall-season. Her team had an awesome win! I can't even remember the score but I know it was a lot to nothing. Her team has just been awesome to watch  this season and her coaches are great-we are so glad to be a part of this group.

Sock Monster

You hear the joke all the time-Is the washer eating your socks? Do you have a monster in there---so it seems in our case that there really was one.

Here is the story: Bryce never had any socks. I would do laundry all of the time and come up with a few pairs, but I was constantly every day trying to find him a pair of socks. I purchased new ones quite often, and several times resorted to having him just wear two mismatched socks. I was frustrated and could not figure out what was going on. Then one day I saw a sock sticking out of the seal on our washing machine as I pushed it back to pull it out I realized there was another. I began to pull one right after the other out. Until I had a pile of like 15 socks. They were slimy...they were gross...who knows how long they had been living in there. So they all went right to the garbage. Needless to say we found our sock monster-the washer really was eating the socks--and now we check the seal after every batch!
