Landon's Handy Work

My sister Sandi recently bought a rental property. It needed a few upgrades to be ready for renters, so they hired Landon. He has pretty much had two jobs the past few weeks, and though we are glad for the extra income we are also glad he is finally finished with this project. He spent over 40 hours tiling-that is a lot of tile. He did the entryway, kitchen, two bathrooms, and a laundry room. He really did a great job and though these pictures don't do it justice-hopefully you can see how nice it looks. I'm lucky to be married to such a talented guy.

Visiting Hanxton

Last week my Grandma and I took a quick day trip up to visit Hanxton. It was the first time either of us had been able to hold the little guy (after 5 long months). He is such a little cutie and I'm so glad we got to go.

Thankfully Tanner was willing to stay home from school and tend Bryce for the day ;) Now I just have to wait until Thanksgiving to see him again.

Halloween

I guess our Halloween could be broken down into several events. I maybe should have done a couple of separate posts but I didn't, so bear with me if this one is a little long.

First up the ward trunk-or treat...my sister and I made this cool photo booth-backdrop to have set up by our car. The trick or treaters really like it. 

 The kiddos in their star wars garb-it was hard to get Bryce to look at the camera he was worried about his light saber.

 At the trunk-or-treat they always serve dinner and have a few activities for the kids before the trick or treating.

 We had a fun night and Bryce learned what trick or treating was all about.

Second on the list...Halloween Day...the kids schools. We went to Chloe's school for her parade and then we went to Tanner's school to trick or treat. Dixie Middle School always puts on a tot trick or treat so we went over to that with my sister and their little ones. Bryce had so much fun and from the night before had learned just what he needed to do to get his piece of candy.

Third on the list...Halloween Day...trick or treating. Of course on Halloween we always do a little trick or treating starting out at Great-Grandma's. We met up with the other cousins there and went to Grandma's and a couple of houses in her neighborhood as a group. 

Grandma always makes the kids a special Halloween treat. This year was no different. She made these awesome and yummy homemade pretzels dipped in white chocolate. In the shape of owls!!!

Lastly on the list...Halloween Night...ending the festivities with a bang! We had a little Halloween Party. We played a few games-of course the old standbys donuts on a string and bobbing for apples and then Halloween Minute to Win It and Witches Scattergories. Then everyone went to bed except for Chloe and her BFF, Brydee, who stayed up to watch Twitches.

 Our cute veggie tray...the dip was in a hallowed out mini pumpkin. Landon also made home-made root beer. (note to self-do not attempt to buy root beer extract on Halloween Day!!!)

We love Halloween!!!

Car Cart

Usually I try not to go to the store when I have both babies...but sometimes it is unavoidable. At times like that I am ever so grateful when I find a 'Car-Cart' with two working seat-belts. It makes the shopping almost enjoyable.

Hanxton Comes Home

After 5 long months in the Hospital last week my little nephew Hanxton was finally able to go home. His family was thrilled beyond words. I am so excited to be able to go and visit him and finally be able to hold him. We are going to Fillmore for Thanksgiving, but I'm sure I won't be able to last that long before I make a trip up.

Pumpkins

After church on Sunday we carved our pumpkins. The kids always look forward to this. I had Bryce paint his pumpkin for several reasons. First off, I knew that there was no way he would touch the seeds and slime inside his pumpkin(he hates slimy stuff. Second, the way we painted it he was actually able to help and he had a great time-if we would have cut it he wouldn't have been involved much. The older kids both found or made up their own patterns and did a majority of the cutting on their own with just a little bit of help.

In St. George once you cut your pumpkins they usually go bad in a few days cause it is so hot, this year especially. We didn't know if they would make it clear until Halloween (Friday). I read online where is said to soak the pumpkins in a solution of bleach and water after they are cut and then also rub all of the cut parts with Vaseline. I really think it worked cause amazingly all of the pumpkins lasted until Halloween night.
