4th of July Pinevalley Campout

This year we decided to try something new for the fourth of July-camping. We went to Pine Valley Reservoir. We figured it would be a great way to get out of town to a little bit cooler weather and enjoy the extra time Landon had off work.

I managed to pull of a cool hairdo for Chloe-fourth of July Star. I was pretty impressed with myself-haha

Two of my sisters (Sandi and Tiffanie) went with us along with their families. It was fun to be able to just hang out and the kids of course had fun with their cousins.

We went on a little walk around a little walk around the campsite...Bryce just kicked back and relaxed in the wagon with a ring pop and bottle-what a life!!!

Daddy's little boy...

Landon took the kids fishing Friday night and again Saturday morning...they had a blast. They each got several fish. They were to little to keep so they did it more just for fun and put all of them back that they caught.

We had a great time camping and enjoying the great outdoors. We will definitely go back to Pine Valley again it was a nice getaway spot close to home.

3rd of July

We kind of celebrated on the 3rd of July instead of the 4th since we had a camping trip planned for the 4th. We started out the night with a little fun in the Red-Neck Swimming pool. Chloe and Brydee swam too, but when I was taking these pictures they were taking a little break to watch Zapped (the Disney original movie of the Summer).

Later that night we invited several of the neighbors over for homemade ice-cream and fireworks. It was lots of fun and Bryce even like them. He didn't cry or get spooked at all even with the bigger fireworks. We kind of let Tanner have at it this year and we put him in charge of setting them off-a good job for him. 

When I took the kids to the firework stand this is all Jack wanted-LOL. It actually didn't work when we first tried to set it off, but I put the fuse back in and we got it to work. He of course kept it after it had cooled off.

 After the fireworks the girls put on a little dance preformance for us...inspired by the movie- Zapped. They are the cutest. The pictures were taken before hand-hence it's still light outside.

High Dive Dare

A few weeks ago we met up with some friends of ours who have moved to Hurricane. We decided to venture over to the Hurricane City Pool. It was nice cause it wasn't super crowded. We spent a few hours swimming. At the pool they have a high-dive(one of the few places left that do). Chloe was so excited to go off of it. She did it first thing. She went off it several times just jumping. I dared her to do a front flip off a it-told her we would go to Swig afterwards if she did. Well did she do it? Yes she did-she is one brave and adventurous little girl. Keeps us on our toes and our lives full of action.

Bryce-whatever anyone will share with him but ice cream is his favorite

Youth Conference and Grandma Wendy's

The day after Huxley's graveside service Landon and I traveled on up to Gunnison with Tanner and Bryce. We went to Youth Conference with the Youth of our Ward. It was pretty fun the leaders and youth had lots of activities planned including a Murder Mystery Dinner. That night we all went over to Manti to see the Mormon Miracle Pageant. Landon had never been and I hadn't been since I was young so it was a good experience for us all. It was late when we got back around midnight or so....I was beat so I curled up on the floor of the firehouse with Bryce and we went to sleep.

Tanner and Landon stayed up and got into some pranking of the other wards who were camping in the area-haha!!! I don't think Tanner slept at all and I think Landon stayed up until around 2 or so. At least Tanner had some fun and did some stuff with some kids his age which is good for him.
The next morning we said goodbye to everyone and made a quick trip on over to Provo to visit little Hanxton. He was just so cute, but sleeping the whole time we were there. He is doing better each day and is a little fighter. I hope that one day soon I will be able to hold this little guy.

After visiting Hanx we went to the Noodles Co. for lunch and then it was back on to Flowell for a night. The kids of course had a blast playing with their cousins and Bryce just loved the freedom of running around in the back yard-he got some swinging and t-ball in.

While we were gone Chloe stayed in Flowell with her cousin Makele. They had fun as always and even took a little trip over to the Oak Grove Campground to play for part of the day on Friday.

When we came home the kids cousin Jack came back with us to spend a week or so.

Graveside Service for Huxley

Last week our little nephew Huxley was laid to rest. Landon helped me make him this little wreath for his grave. The onesie is the one we made him for the family reunion a few weeks ago.

The service was a graveside service at the Fillmore Cemetery. It was a very touching service, especially the talks given by Huxley's Dad (Cody) and by our Uncle Paul. If anything we know that little Huxley was to perfect to have to suffer through this harsh world, and we also know that we will be able to see him again one day. Although it has been such a sad ordeal knowing these things can help bring us just a little bit of comfort and make us strive to live better lives so that we will be reunited with this little guy once again. I can't even imagine how hard this has been on my sister and her family. I only wish them peace in the months to come. It helps also that their little community of Fillmore has really come together and supported them so much. I guess that's a benefit of living in a small town.

Stichin

During the school year Chloe's teacher mom would visit frequently from Arizona. When she did she would let some of the girls stay in from recess and she taught them to hand-stitch. They called her Grandma Weight and they loved spending recess with her. After lots of practice she let them each make a final product and then she took them home to make into pillows for them. Chloe just got hers in the mail a few days ago. She was pretty excited. I was impressed by what she had made.
