Swimming in the Virgin River
A Good Book-The Book Thief
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
If your up for something a little different and maybe a little more challanging to read. This book is for you. Here is my review:
During the first three chapters I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to read this book. It just had a different writing style and wasn't really pulling me into the story. However so many people had told me how good it was that I forged ahead. I was glad I did. After that it was smooth sailing. The story started to come together and I wanted to keep reading. This is a story about a young girl, Liesel, durning the time of Hilter, the Jews, and the War. Unlike most stories about this time period it is not written about the Jew but about a German girl and her struggles and challanges growing up in that time, especially when she befriends a Jew. The narrator is death himself. This is and interesting and gripping story. A very good book indead

WHAT A FRIDAY
Yeseterday we had quite a day. I will tell you a little bit about it.

From there we headed over to Midas. (my car had been overheating and losing antifreeze so Landon wanted me to have the radiator serviced to see what was going on-normally he would do this himself but he is kind of out of comission for awhile) What they found not good-the water pump was done for, and since I had to have the 3.5 engine instead of the 3.4 or 3.6 the part would cost $200-$400 dollars instead of $80-$100 with labor ontop of that. So I told them to leave it alone and called my Dad. Yep super Dad to the rescue. He headed down from Cedar with the part and fixed it. Saving me at least a couple hundred in labor.

But the fun wasn't over yet. Chloe insisted that our neighbor Dave come in and reconstruct the tent he had built for them earlier in the week. So once that was done and everyone gone home. We all sacked out on the couch and watched a movie and then hit the hay.
What a Day!
It started out at 8:30 am we headed over to my sister Tiffanies houes where we cooked up 8 loaves of Zucchini bread. While we cooked the kids had lots of fun playing with Taelor on the trampoline.
Thanks Dad
In the meantime while my car was a Midas the kids and I went with my Grandma to do a couple things- we went to Wal-Mart, the Post Office, the Library, and then we went out for Pizza. Grandma of course spoiled the kids and took them out for Frozen Yogurt afterwards too. They both got there favorite-Cake Batter.
When I picked up my car from Midas I headed home to meet my Dad who arrived shortly with the part for my car. While we were waiting I set up Chloe's little pool and the slip n slide. A couple of Chloe's friends came over to play along with 3 uninvited stragglers, my niece Taelor, and of course Tanner. That makes 8 kids. Having a Blast in the water on our little front lawn. Oh yead and don't forget Licorice she was out there in the pool and on the slide along with all the kids. My dad said when he pulled in it looked like a three ring circus with me as the clown.LOL
They played until about 5:00 which is about the time my Dad finished up and Landon got home.
Swim Lessons Come to an End
Announcing-The RIGHT Price
$4.63 that's how much I paid for the Groceries in the earlier post.
Sorry Taryn no Catalina. They didn't start until Friday I think and I didn't dare to wait that long, because I knew the shelves would be bare if I did.

Scout Awards
How Much Would You Pay?
Let's play a guessing game. Leave a comment on the post with how much you would pay for the following groceries. In a few days I will Post the total that I paid. Here is what I got 8 mac n chesse, 1 Frosted Flakes, 1 Gallon Milk, 2 Jolley Time Popcorn (1-3pack; 1-6pack), and 3 Hamburger Helpers.
Of course you can probably guess that I went to Albertsons this morning. I decided to go bright and early at 6:00 knowing that if I didn't the mac n cheese would for sure be gone. Well I got over there and realized I had left my list at home, so I ran back home and got it and still made it back to Albertsons by 6:05. (one of the reasons I love the location of my house-I can actually afford to coupon to many different stores, because all are 5 minutes or less from my house) Anyways I actually got everything on me list-for once nothing was completely sold out.
I hate to say this but coupons seem like a blessing right now, with the Landon missing quite a bit of work, and the doctor bills pilling up for his hand were at at least $10,000 now, I feel like I can at least get a few things every week and not have to stress about the money to pay for them.
Anyways leave a comment with your guess.

Carpet
We have been needing to replace the carpet in our frontroom every since we moved in three years ago. Well we finally did it. We had it all planned before the finger fiasco, so thankfully we have some great brother in laws who came and helped move everything out and in, and also pulled up the old carpert.
Here are the results
Before
You might not be able to tell that well from the pictures but it has different flecks of brown in the carpet and it looks so much better.
Thanks everyone for your help.

Swim Lessons
He goes into surgery on Friday. We are not sure what time yet. He goes in for pre-op stuff tomorrow so maybe we will find out more then. Also we found out that he is going to have to have some arteries repaired along with the nerves, and tendon. So he will probably be in surgery for a good 3 hours.
Thanks to everyone for your help and concern.

Trip to the ER
Well we started out our Saturday with a trip to the ER. Landon was out working in the garage with his saw (he was fixing the kitchen drawer for me) then all of the sudden I heard him yell to the kids to get mom, and as he walked through the door all I could see was blood everywhere. We all jumped in the car and headed to the ER, luckily it was only a block away.

The verdict- he sliced into all of his fingers but the thumb. The pinky and the next finger had the least damage and were repaired with some stiches. The middle finger was cut pretty good and he also cut at least one of the nerves in that finger. The pointer finger got the worst of it. He cut the tendon in it, cut at least two nerves, and for the time being does not have a fingerprint more like just a big blob on the end of his finger. He goes into surgery Monday sometime to fix the two fingers with the most damage. So he'll be out of commission with his right hand for awhile.
Warning the following photos may be gruesome......

Picnic at the Splash Park
New Camera
I got a Cannon PowerShot SX110IS. I have 30 days to try it out and decide if I like it, so far I do.
What I like:
it has a 10x optical zoon
it takes a really clear picture
it has a image stabilizer
it has a thing were you can set it to take continous pictures for a certain number of seconds-though I haven't figure that one out yet.
Things to get used to:
it takes AA batteries not a battery you charge
it is bigger than my old camera so not as easy to tote around
Some random picts with the new cam.
